John M Eh, it was tolerable at best. Hard for me to enjoy it, as it was completely different from the novel - much, much worse. The added subplots were terrible and did nothing for the story, but I guess they had to add their token "rainbow of color" characters. At first I thought that this was to the show's detriment. But as it progressed, I thought that the exaggerations were intentional, which made this - as another viewer posted - quirky.I didn't think that the whole sub-plot with the Croker employee who gets thrown in jail really fit in with the rest of the story - at least, not the film version (maybe it made more sense in the novel). But on the whole, this was an entertaining story with some great - if exaggerated - acting, especially by Jeff Daniels. And - I always enjoy watching Lucy Lui's characters.I will add this: the final episode has a scene that you will never forget! If he goes bankrupt and they sell the properties in a fire sale, the bank loses bigtime. They might give him some tough love, but the scenes at the bank are stupid. The fake tension is boring.Next, the wormy bank accountant transforms before our very eyes into a real estate tycoon seducing the mogul's wife, why? because his Finnish girlfriend manipulates him?
