Jalapeño Popper Stuffing Recipe - Fab Everyday (1)

Isn’t it crazy to think that the holiday season is already upon us? In one of the most different years of our lives, the tradition, comfort, and familiarity of the holidays will be more important this year than ever. We might be celebrating a little differently, but the meaning behind the festivities and our connections with friends and family will still hold true. I’m happy to be partnering with Kraft Heinz to bring a holiday recipe that uses some of our favorite, familiar holiday products to bring that comfort, nostalgia, and tradition to the holidays this year. I’ve developed an absolutely delicious stuffing recipe that I’m sharing today that’s surprisingly easy to make. This one has already become a favorite in our home. I call it Jalapeño Popper Stuffing, as it incorporates some of the key ingredients from bacon-wrapped jalapeño poppers (diced jalapeños, Philadelphia® Cream Cheese, and Oscar Mayer® Bacon) with Stove Top® Stuffing. It might be a side dish, but this stuffing won’t be having a seat on the sidelines of your holiday meal… it will be one of the stars! The best part? It is quick and easy to make thanks to the shortcut of using boxed Stove Top® Turkey Stuffing mix. You know how I love a good cooking shortcut the make dinners easier, and you can’t go wrong with Stove Top®!

Start by adding the chopped bacon to a skillet and cook over medium heat. You don’t need to add any oil to the skillet, as the bacon will release its own natural oils as it cooks. Cook the bacon for 4 minutes before adding the next ingredients.

FAQs

What cheese is good with jalapeños? ›

Hard cheeses are a bit trickier to melt, and they won't have the same texture as cream cheese, but some are packed with flavor, which will complement your jalapeño peppers. Cheddar cheese is one of the most popular choices.

How do you make stuffed jalapeños not spicy? ›

If you are NOT A HEAT-FREAK, you can tone down the jalapenos by soaking them in milk for about 15 minutes before stuffing, but this makes them real, real mild. If you don't mind a little warmth, just follow the rest of the recipe without soaking. If you do soak them, rinse and blot the peppers dry before stuffing them.

What is a good companion for jalapenos? ›

Vegetable crops to grow alongside jalapeños include beans, peas, carrots and cucumbers. And therefore in reverse, peppers make good cucumber companion plants, and companions for the rest.

What compliments jalapeño peppers? ›

Bacon, beans, beef, chicken, chorizo, cotija cheese, cream cheese, eggs, fish, goat cheese, pasta, pork, rice, scallops, seaweed, shrimp, sour cream, tempeh, tofu, turkey, wasabi.

Should I boil peppers before stuffing them? ›

Easy. You don't need to cook the peppers before stuffing them. Budget-Friendly. Stuffed peppers turn humble, affordable ingredients like rice and ground beef into a well-rounded meal (don't miss these other Ground Beef Dinner Ideas for more wallet-friendly meals).

What variety of jalapeno is best for stuffing? ›

Jalapeño Gigante produces jumbo delicious peppers that are perfect for salsa or stuffing as poppers.

Should I remove seeds from jalapeno? ›

The membrane of a jalapeño tends to be the spiciest part, and since you remove the seeds with that, it's often thought that the seeds are extra spicy as well. So if you want a spicier dish, keep the membranes (and probably the seeds as a result).

Why are grocery store jalapeños not spicy? ›

In short, most jalapeños are sent to factories to be used in prepared foods such as salsas, chips and sausages. The companies making these products want control over their products' spice levels – and control is easier to achieve if the jalapeños are mild.

Why do my stuffed peppers taste bland? ›

The thing about most stuffed bell pepper recipes is 3that they call for salt in the filling, not for the peppers themselves. Without salt, the peppers are flabby and bland, merely a filling case. With a sprinkle of salt, they transform into a sweet and powerfully savory part of the dish.

Does washing jalapeños make them less spicy? ›

Rinse the Chiles

Putting a fresh, cut open uncooked chile pepper under running water will rinse off some of its heat. The water in this method will take away a significant amount of the pepper's flavor along with its heat.

What cheese goes well with jalapeño jam? ›

Manchego and Ja-Ha

Our most straightforward pepper jelly, Ja-Ha, is our pick for this cheese. The tartness of the red bell pepper, along with the bite of the jalapeño and habanero peppers contrasts with the dense richness and saltiness of the Manchego. A perfect bite in our opinion.

What cheese goes with spicy food? ›

Blue cheese doesn't so much cool the heat from buffalo wings as amplify it, demonstrating a like-with-like pairing when it comes to cheese and hot sauce. What is blue cheese, if not sweet and spicy, with its rich, nutty paste streaked with piquant, peppery blue mold?

What kind of cheese is used for hot pepper cheese? ›

The creaminess of the combination of American Cheese and jalapeno peppers makes this the best pepper cheese known to all of mankind. Other pepper cheeses are dry and can also be bitter, this cheese has the right texture and it is really creamy.

What kind of cheese is in Arby's jalapeño bites? ›

Yes, these spicy jalapeño halves filled with melted cream cheese may seem a bit spicy at first. But you will never regret downing an order of these delicious morsels with a side of Bronco Berry Sauce®.
